Legionnaires’ Disease: Recent Outbreaks

Just a few days ago there was a recent outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease, a type of pneumonia that can be contracted through breathing in water droplets contaminated with Legionella bacteria. Two fitness clubs in Orange County, Florida have been identified as carriers of the disease, when a handful of customers who all belonged to the club fell ill with symptoms of the disease. Symptoms of Legionnaires’ include a cough, chest pain, and fever. Tests are still being conducted at the facility to find the exact source of the bacteria.
